My idea for a solution regarding how to keep guns from
getting stolen out of cars is a lock that is attached or bolted to the car. The
locks that come with handguns don’t do anything to keep it from getting stolen.
They are more of safety locks. My idea of a lock is something that attaches to
the car. The same idea of a safe in a house. If the safe is just sitting on the
floor, a couple of people can pick it up and take it away. If you bolt the safe
to the floor, that can’t happen. If the lock for the pistol was attached to the
car in some way, there would be no way to steal it. Some may say that people
just shouldn’t keep guns in their car, but the fact is that a lot of people do
it and will continue to keep doing it no matter what. As long as people keep
guns in their car, guns will continue to be stolen out of cars. Essentially if
the gun was able to be attached to the car, far fewer guns would be stolen. Therefore,
guns used in crimes would go down too.
What a great idea! To have a gun safe that's incorporated within the car. Have the safe on the floor of the car with a code and being able to hide it with car mats. Thats a great idea. I honestly wasn't sure how this issue could be resolved when
ReplyDeleteI read your opportunity. But your plan would definitely be a great useful tool for car that are being manufactured.
I'm a little confused by this solution because in your previous post you mentioned that people get guns stolen out of their car because they simply never lock their car. If someone doesn't think or care enough to use the lock included in the car, why would they take the extra step to secure an additional lock? Perhaps I misinterpreted that statement. Also, why are they leaving the handgun in their car? If the point of taking the handgun with you is for protection, why leave it sitting in your car. I'm not super familiar with concealed-carry laws(or guns in general) so maybe this is a niche-product.
